Has anybody tried this

Chatting to a local builder in the pub last night and he said he had recently had a tiler working for him who grouted a bathroom in the time it would have taken to do one wall.

The way he described it was that the tiler 'whisked' the gout to almost a foam consistency and then put it in an old washing up bottle and used this to fill the joints. The builder said he had never seen this done before but reckoned it was very quick and a lot less messy so quicker to clean of any excess.

Anybody tried this method?

Were they 'dished' shaped tiles and were his hands softer or did he use marigolds.
If its foamy it'll be full of air bubbles and will end up with pinholes.

is this the same as using those grouting/pointing guns. You know the ones that look like steroid boosted silicone guns? Got one from TT a few years ago and it was pants. Mixed a bit of fairy liquid in and it still only worked for a short while before clogging up. Can't see it working with a small bottle myself. Too much laughing soup I reckon.

can't see that being quicker and you'd have to thin the grout down too much
