Hi Guys

Just been to look at a job for a plumber friend, i am new to tiling and wnat to make sure i have covererd all the points,

The job in question is a bathroom, all the tiles have been stripped off the wall and in some places the plaster has been removed and some of the bonding behind is showing.

the walls are mostly flat but a bit bumpy, the floor is plyed out...

Wall tiles are ceramic (200x250 7mm thick) Floor tile 150x305 13/14mm thick slate) they also want some mirrored tiles place above the toliet and sink, these tiles are ( 225x225)

Areas Walls 22sqm and floor 5sqm,

i will get rapidset flex for the floor and white star for the walls, i will also prime the wood with apd and seal the tiles before and after grouting,

Normal pattern in the walls and brick on floor,

I was thinking of using a 10mm trowl on walls to try and flatten them out and 10mm on floor,

Any advice , guidence would be great, like setting the mirrored tiles into the tiles,

Many thanks

I think you may have covered all bases Gaz...you will have to patch the walls with rapid set where skim is missing, so maybe try to straighten the walls at the samre time, this will help prevent you building out your tiles with white star.OK with the floor...can you explain the mirror bit again ?......Gaz

Thanks you for the reply,

The mirrorered tiles are to be placed, behind the toilet ( 2 of them and 4 of them behind the sink,

The problem is the mirror tiles sizes are square and the normal tiles are not, i think i will have to ust cut out holes in the normal tiles, and leave a 2mm grout gap around them and butt the mirror tiles together. They are also a lot thinner than the other tiles,

I think it will look bad but its there bathroom,

Can you use a 10mm trowl with white star on the walls?

Or should i just try and flatten as i go?

you can use 10mm with white star but it will be easier and less expensive to level up with rapid first, if wall is bumpy...it may need 10mmm some places and less in others......Gaz
