Help with a generator

Hi I've been kindly given a really good generator as I'm struggling with light on a few sites but it's a 240v and I can't really use the 3point cable that has a normal plug socket on as the site won't have it I need a 110 lead to go straight into it if that makes sense is there a converter out there or do you think if I stick the 110v lead straight in it would work

Have you tried a blue fly lead for this?
I think you mean you need a yellow three prong plug for the end or am I wrong?

What it is there are 2 240 v ports on it basically you have a blue fly cable that has a 240v socket on it and I wanted to then plug my 110 transformer into that to run my 110 stuff but the site won't have it it's got to be 110 v straight into the generator so I wondered if there was a way around it

Has the generator got 240 & 110 outlets. A yellow plug will not fit into a round blue 240 socket. The only option would be get a 240v fly lead an plug a 110 transformer in.

No it's just got the 240 sockets I got one of those but they won't allow me to use it

But I did think about a blue extension lead that I can plug the end into with a transformer connected to it in the room that way it won't get wet outside

ive got it sussed out now anyway just get a blue 240 v extension lead to go into the building then plug in the fly lead plug my 110v transformer then run my yellow cable to my work area im sure that will be fine its safer than working in the dark

As a general rule of thumb on new build , houses = no power , apartments = power.

McCarthey n Stone have plenty of power genrally .

To highlight, my opening remark, i just spent 6 mths doing 4 apartment blocks for GFRD ( Linden ) power everywhere , went to another of theirs 2 weeks ago - town houses , no power.
Mate had to bring hi genny for us.

If I'm reading you right what you've done is worse than what you suggested, by that I mean that now you have a 240V trailing cable from your genny to your transformer rather than just the short lead of the genny, sounds crazy to me.
