new to the forum, and tiling.

this site is great, its answered every question i`ve had so far. its given me the confidense to just do it.

just gonna do evenings and weekends first. see where that takes me, after putting some flyers and cards around. plus word of mouth from friends and family. providing there is enough out there in my area, then i`ll do a course, and hopefully one day take the plunge full time.

calling myself east tiling based in llanelli south west wales.

i know just not possible till i get a fresh block of hols from my full time job. planning on doing a course in spring time. but in meantime just do a few small simpler jobs, been doing my own house, and got a few family members lined up. i`m using this site quite a bit for pointers on technique, correct materials for particular jobs etc.

not gonna take on anything mega till i`ve had full training. just wanna get my foot in the door so to speak.

can`t see any decent courses local to me. so it`ll mean staying oop nurth for a week.

From a centre that promotes qualifications, I can't stress enough how important it is to get these in your trade. Their are plenty of centres across the UK that will give you your Level 1. The forum sponsors currently offer these.

Their are only a small few that will offer Level 2 though. You need to check carefully each centre, if you wish to get to this level. :)

hi guys thanks for all your interest and advice.

phoned up diamond today. had a chat about what i`ve done, what i can do and what i can`t. he seems to think the 2 week course would be best. so just a matter of getting the dosh together and booking my hols in new year.

can`t wait.

had an interveiw with the local business start up advisors who are in conjunction with the wda, (welsh development agency).

he`s emailed me a business plan to work through, and is giving me pointers, also gonna run thro cashflows etc with me when we next meet.

i was born to do this. i don`t know why i havn`t done it sooner. getting nibbles for work as i`m just telling friends what i`m about to embark on. couple of them nice simple kitchen splashbacks. i know you guys would rather i was qualified 1st. but they are close mates. they realise i havn`t done the course yet. thing is the extra buck i can earn here or there, the quicker i pay the course fee. swings and roundybouts, catch 22. what you think guys?
