) when did I say I know better???

I said the above on the other forum grant.

You may not of said outright you know better, but the way you write your response it sure sounds like it.
You have said you trained for 5 years to be a engineer, yet you think you can go on a 2 week coarse and maybe work with a tiler for a week and then earn a fortune tiling folks homes in the big bad world :)
Stick to your job mate earning your 45 grand a year, not many folk on here will make that kind of money( and to be fair if you do earn that you must be high up on the ladder, thats a v good wage up north for even a engineer )

I think we got on the wrong foot I am not doing tiling for the money if I was doing it for the money tiling wouldnt of been the trade to do it so thats clear.

Once again please read in full I will be at college doing tiling as well in a hope to gain some experience and build on a NVQ. Also got some tiling job in my homes and family and friends, as you sent this message I am in talks with a tiler asking if I can follow him on 2 or 3 day.
I dont want to rush into it I want to be able to be like you and the others on here really gifted people .

you don't come across very clear grant, I know on forums post can sometimes read different to what you mean them to say, but when you say things like 'i'm going to do a 2 week course then shadow a tiler for a week before I start my own jobs' it kind of sounds very arrogant and it makes out you think tiling is easy and anyone can do it with little or no experience, the guys on here are just trying to explain to you the way it is in the real world.....no offence intended, just try taking a step back, learn all you can before you even consider doing a paid job..

what I was saying Deano, was 1500 was expensive for a course with no qualification when it cost me 1500 per year to do my HND but once again everyone was on my back from the start, as for college I will be doing that one day a week, as for the 2 week course this to give me more experience and more tool time, as money isn't really a big issue as the moment.
What qualification will you be getting at the end of you one day a week course and how long will it run for as most are two days a week for 1 or 2 years ????
