How much would you charge?!

Thanks again for all replies. Just to fill in some of the details I missed from the original post!....The bathroom is in the centre of the house so no windows, does have a pretty heavy duty extractor fan in the ceiling though! Trim will be plastic, room is rectangular in shape and the boxing in is no bigger than 6" deep, 10" wide and 18" tall.

Pricing is very personal.
It all depends on how much you need the work, what you consider a fair day rate, how much you can achieve in a working day, how long your working day is, etc. etc..

I would asses how long it will take, multiply days by day rate and you will arrive at a figure. Advise the developer that you will price each room independently and you can avoid the metre squared issue.

Good luck,

Daz

Thanks again for all of the advice and comments to my original post. I quoted at 20 per m2 (£330) but it would appear he didn't like that quote too much as he hasn't got back to me! I figured that I would have done the job over 2 days and as the price per metre wasn't too far off what I thought to be a fair day rate, especially over a weekend at relatively short notice, I didn't think it was too high a quote. It obviously was, but as they say....you win some, you lose some! Put it down as a learning experience I guess.

Thanks again for all comments and advice

£20/m2 was a very competetive quote , i would have charged at least £25/m2 , the contractor was obviously wanting the job done for buttons ...

I would have thought that this is a 2.5 day job. Large format tiles.......and very thick ceramics at 15mm. Addy drying time etc. Are the walls ultra flat? My Sunday rate is the same as a Monday.......and the same as a Bank Holiday........and Royal Wedding!! A friend of mine asked me a few weeks ago....."Do you charge double time on a Bank Holiday?" I wish I could! Good luck. Sean
