Hows the work situation update.?

Tomorrow and Sunday plus 1 evening next week 14m Ceramic walls and 4m Quartz Floor, Monday,Tues 27m 670x335 porcelain walls and floor, wed thurs and Friday 52m 600x300 porcelain and goes on on and my plumber has 5 bathrooms for me in the coming weeks and I have 5 outside steps to do, never known it so busy and stressful !!

The hardest bit is pleasing everyone but what do you do, take the work while its there and hope it lasts !!

I've had nothing for ages, but I've got two small floors to do next week, and bathroom wall next, so compared to how it has been it's picking up hopefully cos my redundancy money is all but gone and I am not a happy bunny.

All domestic, booked solid 'til mid Nov, and can see work 'til end of year.
No complaints, but I'm absolutely shattered.

I hope it picks up for the guys that are quiet and all I can say is that it pays to market yourself when times are quiet.

Ironically, I'm pricing really high 'cos I'm not bothered whether I get the job or not, and seem to be winning more business now that when I priced competitively???

Same as tubs, flat out, in middle of 130m2 bathroom at moment, another 4 to do in same house and builder from edinburgh desparate for me to get through there again, been busy all year part from 2 weeks in march, considering myself lucky, must be doin somethin right!

Picked up a lot, working for a guy does building and landscaping and it's on his partners house and another builder working on the same job. Phone is'nt that busy though

For those quiet lads I think Dans idea this week of getting 'wall and floor Tiler' in massive letters on the back of your shirts and cruising through the diy shops is a good idea. Seen it someones shirt this week, no doubting what he did for a living! Saw another couple of 'lost souls' in B&Q yesterday!! If you talk to anybody tell them you get VAT free tiles from other tile shops. (Not strictly true, but usually somethink like the discount you will get) People love screwing the taxman!

I did quote for a job but it was for a lady. Bathroom floor was all knackered.

Just get your face and name about...pop into tile shops and say hello...is it ok if i send my customers in etc etc...friendly chat always works for me..if no joy then move onto the next one..keep pushing your name about..

Yes there is people out there who will look at the bottom line figure only, But most want a good job at a fair price

Did a quote yesterday,repair job in kitchen floor 2m2,one wall of shower cubicle and 1.3m2 on floor.Customer was trying to use tiles from her friend,tried to explain she never had enough tiles and she was basically wanting to cut corners...not getting involved with this one.😛rrr:
