Me, too, Pebbs and Whitebeam, except going to Germany, that is always for 6 days or so, but it ain't a holiday. Can do 4 or 5 days tops, and then I get homecomfortsick... that is supposed to be sign of stress itself, not allowing yourself to let it all go for a three weeks, could be, could be... who knows? Loved the 12 days in Cairo though, twice... because I could DO stuff... would hate to lie on some beach all the time..

every city has it's "bad" areas. Stoke seems to have more "bad" areas than most. I lived in one bad area for 5 years and never had an ounce of trouble that affected anyone in our street, unlike where I live now which is supposed to be a much better area.

when I was younger, Mitchell was a rough school, and so was Berryhill (it's arch rival, nearest enemy school) which is where my Dad taught for 25 years. The council are working hard to change the poorly performing schools and I had no idea that Mitchell was now an academy. Swings and roundabouts I guess. It will be good whilst the emphasis is on it, and then it will slip when not.

sorry for hi-jacking your thread Lynn

Give over, I have a great bunch of lads, when there not kicking site agents heads in, fighting for the hoist with the other trades, drunk out their heads at 3pm on a Friday, have more women on the go than Nigel Havers on Coronation Street, and go on strike if they dont get their sweet treats on a Friday morning...Yes I will drag them out of bed when needs be, but I wouldnt change them..men need to be men.
