 sorry that was a pathietic joke. i was pricing a fein multi master power tool set and thought they were a bit expensive around £300. i could do with this tool as i not only tile i do a bit of joinery work ie, doors, floors, skirting, decking, etc, etc, i would like this tool for triming the bottom of door frames for tile, wooden floors yo go under frame for a quality finish more importantly for expanding wood floors. i have no doubt this tool would be handy but it is pricey, and i dont think iwould use most of the accesories just the frame cutter. privously i used ahand saw but it is to slow and wasteing energy.any body used this tool or know of a simular one or a completey differnt way of doing this job. would appericate any and all info:thumbsup:

Loads of guys on here use them Smokie, and most don't know what they did without them. Haven't got one myself yet but it will be a future purchase. There are 2 sorts BTW. 1 a bit cheaper than the other and accessories are NOT interchangable.

Used one for about 5 yrs now, excellent bit of kit. Fitted a door yesterday for a client, cutting hinge plates, doddle. Used it to trim a bath panel, Used it for trimming cornices on wall cabinets so the tiles can fit behind, door frames, skirting, tile trim, window trim........the list is endless as far as time saving goes it is invaluable.

The wife bought me one last week for my birthday, (thanks for the cards lads, postie's lost them or left em at sortin office sooooooooo many) ANYWAY back to the point, good news B&Q sell a bosch multi purpose (fein in disguise) cheaper than original !
not used it yet but it looks the part!

Steer clear of the Bosch mate they burn out very easy after a prolonged use i.e. removing a lot of grout. Get a Fein you will not regret it, amazing tool.

There are posts about this in the forum - It's nowhere near as good as the Fein.

How good are these then?
I have my trusty hand saw placed on a tile for trimming doors and surrounds. A serrated grouting tool for removing grout. A hammer and chisel for cutting out hinges. Pad saw for those holes in plasterboard - what else does it replace? I love tools, but how versatile is this fein thing?

There was a video posted somewhere on the forums, it was very impressive.

You will jump up and down on your grouting tool after you have used a Fein mate, so good.

I promised to do a bit of re-grouting in a sauna for a gym I do a fair bit of work for.For the job I purchased a fein but it didn't arrive in time so I used a grout rake, after an hour my hand was cramping up and I'd scratched 5 tiles but luckily there wasn't much to do.
I've been working on a bathroom showroom and people have damaged tiles installing trays, toilet roll holder etc.,so I got to use the fein.Having used it I know I could have done the sauna in less than 5 minutes without scratching any tiles.I would have had amazing difficulty this week changing all the damaged tiles without this, the finish it gives is fantastic, once you've used one you can't live without it.
