I've been asked to quote a half finished floor.

There 'builder' fixed 10m2 60x30 porc to the existing concrete substrate but continued it over 13m2 of parkay flooring with ever-bond. It didn't adhere so they now would like me to finish the job properly.

The parkay has been lifted and now there is a 10mm deffersit in floor level to match the tiles that are sound.

obviously SLC but that's alot of slc and extra work. I was thinking how about bringing the level up with another method.

Any ideas? I wondered if ufh insulation boards would be the cheapest fastest but soundest option? after all they are designed to tile on, easy to cut, and raise levels as a side affect of there use.

open to ideas men.

two rooms in to one

the kitchen area is fixed up to where the parkay was so I've been asked to basicly re tile to fit in.

Builder has convently don't his back in after ****in up.

hardie backer boards if its a concrete floor or ply if its t and g.

concrete, My 1st thought was HB boards but was just trying to think outside the box. I just thought insulation boards would be a lot less expensive for the customer.

id def go the FC sheeting for a concrete substrate use some rubber modified adhesive to stick it down.

You could tile it with some cheapo floor tiles, then over tile it with the correct ones?

Sod that! I dont want to save the costomer money that much!

I just want to help them out if I can after the trouble they have had with billy the(builder) kid. Am I being daft and should just SLC it and cahrge them the nessecery?
