Fred

As some of you know, I used to be a copper in London.

My eldest son had a problem with another local lad a few months ago. They worked at the same place, albeit, seperate units.

Well, the company had an evening out on a boat on the Thames. This other lad made a apin of himself all night, going around bullying other lads, etc.

Towards the end of the night this lad hit my lads best mate, so my lad being him got involved and ended it. Then the fun began. Death threats on face book, 'some one is dying'.etc, never mentioning my lads name.

Then this las followed home my lads friends demanding to know where we lived. This went on for a few days.

My lad went to the pub, had 2 pints, left with his two mates to another pub half a mile away, but took his pint glass with him. They went past the other lads home.

My lad saw the other boy, crossed the road and asked why he was saying things/following people home etc, but this lad grabbed a hold of my boy in front of his two mates and was going mad.

You got it, my lad put the glass across this lads face. It broke and there is a few scratches on his face, no stitches etc, in fact more damage from the other lad scratching my lads neck.

My son was nicked. The old bill treated myself like a star, having found out I did 15 years in the Met. My son was later bailed to re-attend the local nick.

He's been charged with wounding with intent and GBH without intent. Court this tuesday, first appearance.

I've been out of the police 7 years now, so I'm out of touch with what lads get.

Have any of you got friends etc, who have a similar story with what happened?

My police mats have all gone silent on me and no longer call........sware sware

I'm in a complete mess, unable for funtion.

I don't know but what I would do is go and have chat with the your local doctor, I was under sever stress with a divorce and bankruptcy and was given some "tablets", from a draw. Just to see if he can help under the current situation:thumbsup:

Best of luck Fred

i know I would feel the same Fred if it was my lad. Was on a jury last year, similar sort of story, came to nothing because a witness failed to show, but previous character counts for a lot. needs a good line for carrying a glass though! best of luck for tuesday

Stay calm Fred............You need to stay in one piece for your son and the rest of your family.

Good luck

stay calm, he was carrying a glass, ok I will be the one that everyone says, " that diamond tiling has got a big gob", Fred lets face it, if you carry a knife you are asking for trouble, whats the difference? your boy as good as he may be had a glass, he might have had no intention of doing anything with it, thats tough, the court will look at that bad, too many kids get away with being out of control, your boy may be a good boy but forget that in the eyes of the law, If he goes to Jail then thats it there is nothing you can do about it except be there for him when he comes out. There are too many people in this world who think they know everything and dictate to others their point of view but they are mis-guided, I sincerely hope that everything turns out good for you and your family. I have been there Fred, Prison is not nice, it is hard because it is boring and you miss your family, you lose a lot of things that you thought were important but are in fact nothing. Many so called hard men fall to bits on the other side of the wall. PM me Fred and I will help you as much as I can, I run a training programme in 3 prisons, I know you do not want to hear my words but I would rather speak the truth.

OK Fred, at least you have a professional to handle the part of this that you can't handle yourself (the courtroom stuff). Let's all hope for the best for your son.

Fred

it's always the good people who seem to end up in trouble because of some other toe-rag and troublemaker. your son will tell the truth, will give the whole story and background to the situation, and any sensible magistrate will see that he was provoked.

keep your chin up Fred, and we're all here, thinking of you and your son

:grouphug:

if it's your son's first offence and pleads guilty, the chances are he will have a hefty fine and/or community service,he would be best not standing trial because it won't look good that your boy was carrying a glass,i know we have all left the pub with our pints before but the courts will look at this as carrying a weapon and looking for trouble!

hope it all goes well:thumbsup:
