Is this acceptable. A member of a German Tool Company (REMS TOOLING) asked if he could take a photo of our promotional model holding their product.

REMS make a Diamond Core Drilling Machine amongst other products.

At the time we said no. The girls work for us and they are paid to promote PORSADRILL.

The exhibitor then called in promotional girls from other companies as they walked by and asked them to pose with his product while he took their photos.

He did not ask the stand holder permission for the other girls.

The following day he boasted that while we were distracted that he took his chance and took a photograph of our promotional girl holding a REMS drill core.

Question?

Is this just a matter of peace and love.

Do we write to the legal department in Germany and request confirmation that no pictures of PORSADRILL girls will appear holding REMS drills.

Whats she holding richard, or is she posing on the other companies stand (the one in the background).

TBH it sound more like an issue you should take up with the agency that provides the models, or the models themselves and make it clear that whilst they are hired by you they are working for you and shouldnt be posing for competitors, though I suppose there are always going to be people wanting to photo them, lets face it, they've got jack to do with drilling tiles and are hired to attract attention, so you would have to make it clear to them that they arent being paid by you to pose knowingley for competitors.

Enduro is right I think they were on a wind up and just taking pics to prove a point.

However Mike may also have a point that if we send an invoice for their time....

Maybe if we will write to his company to explain the fine details of IP rights, Images and using copyright photography without consent...

Could be a slap on his wrist and end of matter. !
