here is a slightly better standard of a ducket thingy, i used the double square edge trim for this, looks a bit better with that trim imo IMAG0218.jpg

We got a whole price for the extension including the extended bathroom. When we came to choose the tiles in the showroom I had saw this type of recess and asked the builder if he could do it, he said yes but it would be £150 extra as involved more time/labour as was tricky, we agreed as wanted the recess. The rest of the bathroom as I said in the beginning is fine, a couple of slightly proud tiles here and there but nothing shouting out at you so that to us is acceptable. The tiler is a really nice guy and already said when he finished it the first time, if we were not happy with anything to let him know and he would fix it. So as we were not happy with the recess and a couple of other small snagging bits the builder fetched him back, the small snagging bits are now fine but the recess to us is still annoying especially as it is right where the shower is and you look at it every you shower. I think the best thing is for me to find another tiler, explain on the phone the problem and if I can get a professional tiler with pride in his work to come out to get it done myself. No point in spoiling what is a stunning bathroom for a small part that we are not happy with if it can be fixed.
Thank you all for your help. Much appreciated.

Mitres are not flush, but I've seen a lot worse, but the chipping on the tiles is in my opinion not acceptable. Maybe it's time to get someone else in.

Why do people insist on getting builders in to install bathrooms? Plumbers and Tilers are specialist bathroom and wetroom installers, builders are jack of all trades and generally masters of none.

I'll be blunt (I'm Welsh) I would sell my tools if my fitting was ever this bad. The chips... the gap! even my old helper was better than that and he's a mechanic lol
2mm on tiles and 1mm round trims is what you get off me and at 1mm it has to be spot on, if it crept to 2mm on the other end it gets done again.

I would get him out to replace again and if still not done correctly then get someone out to replace it and send him the bill, it's only fair as you have given him 2 chances to rectify the problem.

I also agree with the post re. scoring, if it was pre-scored before getting to the wet saw then this would avoid the chips.
