Its a bit of both. IE Its not 100% lined up in that corner. But grout hides a multitude of errors.
The walls on this job were well out of true so he had to pack out a fair bit. As you know with heavy porcelain you dont want to pack out too much... So some slight errors.
One of the "hindsights" on this job would have been to spent more time getting the walls absolutley plumb and square.
Truth be told is that when complete everything is hidden behind fixtures and fittings. Slight errors are hidden because the eye cant see the whole blank canvas.
In that corner a silcone joint has been put in prior to grouting.
If I had a gripe about the job then its the black tiles used in the shower. I used jet black as a feature wall for the chrome but the tiles were 2mm bigger than the naturals. So each course went up slightly higher until the top course looked like this
You can see the lines running away. At the time he was working so fast that he wouldnt let me use my diamond saw to remove the excess. "Will take too long..."
Every job is imperfect and that's one of the niggles I have to live with. But when people walk in they never notice half of this stuff. They just ooohhh about the black and chrome.
