I bought the raimondi kit yesterday I bought the starter kit with 100 wedges and 100 12mm lash spacers and a set of floor pliers I also bought a further 500 spacers and 250 wedges and set of wall pliers ,I bought them as I have a several jobs coming up it 1200x800 4mm thick porcelain which tends to bend a fair bit while fixing it so I am going to give them a try,I got a great deal from my supplier and I paid just over 200 quid and now I have the kit fixing 60x60 tiles will cost just over a £1 a metre for the spacers so the cost is not high .I will post some honest feed back once i have tried them on a couple of jobs as I think it will a couple of goes for a fair trial

Never used the Raimondi system, but used Lash the other day on 600x600 porcelain. A doddle to use and really does take the worry of slumping out of the equation. Be warned with very highly polished tiles though....... any slightest sign of grit, cement dust or other particles between the wedge and the tile can leave tiny fine scratches. I learnt early on and managed to get into a system of wiping and ensuring I worked as clean as possible.

Client now has perfectly flat, mirror finish wetroom floor to be proud of

Ordered the Raimondi kit today and will be giving it a go along with a 365drills 115mm core bit on Thursday:thumbsup:

A little tip....... I used the 115 bit to make a cut out template guide in a bit of 10mm Marmox, then put some thin Silicon blobs evenly on the back. Have used it a handful of times over the past few months when drilling using the 115mm bit and it works a treat! No straying whatsoever!

Well I must admit I have been super sceptical about any of these 'lash clip' systems which have been thrust into the market by various manufacturers :incazzato:I have read numerous articles about their benefits and ease of use, but always worked on the principle that I was good enough at my job that I did not need such a complication to my work :thumbsup:Anyway, my curiosity finally got the better of me earlier this week and I succumbed to the marketing boys by contacting Colin at Kwiksplit and ordering the Raimondi starter kit along with some extra clips which were required for the amount of tiling I was doing. I have been doing a 600x400x12mm Cappucino marble job lately and was about to start the floors, so thought there was no better way to test the system. So, as promised by Kwiksplt, my kit arrived in perfect time for me to start the floor tiling today:thumbsup:

I began by fixing a crack suppression membrane over the UFH I installed yesterday…

and after setting out, I serated with a 10mm Rubi square notch…

IMG00433-20110825-1342.jpg

After back buttering the first tile I fixed it into the adhesive bed, followed by spacers and the Raimondi clips…

IMG00434-20110825-1343.jpg IMG00435-20110825-1344.jpg

Each subsequent tile after that was fixed in the same way with the spacers and wedges as before…

IMG00436-20110825-1346.jpg IMG00437-20110825-1350.jpg

I was absolutely delighted with how quick and easy it was to level the tiles with the pliers supplied, you are left with zero lippage in an instant…(just remember to check your spacings between tiles in case the wedges push the tiles apart slightly)

Looking forward to getting back there tomorrow to remove the wedges/clips and see the final result

I certainly wouldn't use them for everyday floor tiling, but for large format stone with rectified edges in particular I think I might just be hooked:smilewinkgrin:
