Sorry got confused haven't used granfix for a long time its ultra I don't likeOoh don't like granfix grout .
I started having trouble with Mapei ucp grey 112 drying different shades and white 100 drying greyish and all colours very sandy finish and slides off grout float.Switched to BAL mm2 but drys too quickly and lot of wastage. Now using Weber projoint and no probs at all, nice to work with, smooth finish and drys nicely.
Ucp and kerracolour are well known for drying different shades . Often we hear things about make sure you double knock it when mixing . Shake the bag before use and the best one don't over wet which is pretty much impossible as a lot of tiles require an awful lot of cleaning to get them clean because the grout dries on the face of the tiles a lot sooner than it stiffens up in the joint .Sorry you have had problems with the Mapei Ultracolor Plus. Should you ever use the product again and would like for a Mapei representative to be present please let us know and we will endeavor to assist.
Not the only tiler on here to have had trouble with ucp gris drying blotchy and having to fine sand joints, good few on here and I personally know another 3 tilers up here having to do same.Sorry you have had problems with the Mapei Ultracolor Plus. I am regular user of UCP and over the last 10 years or so I can recollect only 2 occasions where I have had problems and they were down to grout haze caused by cold atmospheric conditions and textured glass mosaics (I was never going to win that one anyway)Not the only tiler on here to have had trouble with ucp gris drying blotchy and having to fine sand joints, good few on here and I personally know another 3 tilers up here having to do same.
