I have been in London for a week laying a sandstone floor in a basement. We all get nice customers from time to time but this customer has to be the best I have had to date. I priced for 40 metres but when we got there it was actually 33, Richard then said that he would honour our original quote. Huge quantities of tea and ground coffee were provided. Lunch time came and we found a little cafe around the corner, Richard was in there as well and he paid for our lunch twice that week. The sandstone was a little too heavy for a grinder but some bar steward had pinched my 9 inch grinder, Richard then gave me his newish bosch grinder with a new dewalt blade for nothing, what a nice man.
When it came to the sealer I had taken stonefix but I had reservations about it, a quick message to Dave Howe on Tuesday night and he rang me the next day and offered invaluable advice, (never too late to listen to others advice). Thanks again Dave.
We changed to LTP mattstone and got the finish that was required.
After measuring up for some stone steps that are being cut to fit and shipped to the job we spoke to the builder (nice chap) regarding the bathroom that we are going back to do in a few weeks.
An altogether great weeks work, It was good to put a voice to a name with Dave from the forum and Matt from Tile Giant, we met a few dodgy geezers in Barnett where we were staying but Martin my mate is seriously more dodgy than them, (it was like a mafia meeting) and we had plenty of beers on the last night.
