Just buy a 20mm Marmox board and cut out the offending area. Stick own with adhesive, tape the joint and away you go!

Just use the equivalent thickness in layers of Marmox boards or build up the initial majority with ply, then Marmox board to end flush with the top surface of the former. Then tape and tank as stated previously
