Mixing Plywood and insulation boards

floor.JPG

Well they refused to sell more insulation boards at the tile shop as they said I was wasting my money. Use the plywood was there recommendation.

The self leveling compound they said could be used but the tile adhesive was just as good.

There going to send an agent from the underfloor heating supplier to my house to confirm.

Ho hum...

What kind of stooopid shop are they??
No don't buy our products, buy some ply??
Screwfix sell a low expasion foam called Instastik, i use it to make a dam under the units, fab stuff. Let it dry (30mins), pour you levelling, hopefully there are no holes in your dam, leave over night, no matter how long the setting time says, then trim of any remaining foam.

do it once do it right, you have to live with this floor for the next however many years, find the money to get a tiler in is my advice. If you really cant then I wish you the best of luck, maybe try a tile levelling system also. ie lash clips or the rubi system.

all the best.
