I must have missed the memo about us coming out of the recession then as I never saw that bit in the news.

The government need to buck up their ideas and sort out millionaires taxes, and sort out the immigration issues.

Then give some encouragement for manufacturing companies over here.

And perhaps give the construction industry (which fell 3% - perhaps a figure worth moaning a bit about) a bit of a kick up the bum and get that back in order.

Immigration seems to be more under control than ever. We adopted a points based system back in 2009 and closed certain entry routes and heavily reduced the quota of numbers allowed to claim visas. The unfortunate thing is, being part of the EU means our borders are open to the majority of EU countries and so there is a free movement of labour across Europe. No bad thing considering the huge chunk of dole dossers who don't wish to work for a living, yet the incoming foreign workers who come into the UK to fill our low-wage jobs surplus do so and keep our economy turning as they will have to pay tax and NI like the rest of us. Granted, the foreign workers send some of their earnings home, but some will spend money to live on whilst here, rent, food, transport.

the real problem here is when you run a company in the uk 54% of your turn over goes to the tax man left 46% to pay your staff buy your goods gas electric phone petrol and so on. you should try to make a proffit out of whats left .but we give billions to the euro debt which cant be paid off.built up by cheats liyers andwork shy countrys .20% of your cost of sirving goes in tax to the eu .nothing left to invest in the uk:mad2:

there has been plenty opportunities for growth in the uk over the last few years and every time it appears they kill the growth with another stupid move.......the most recent one being the mortgage rates being put up by banks as they claim to be making no money, despite the bank of england base rate being so low the banks are now upping it so all the people coming of there fixed terms will now not be benefiting from the low rates yet another squeeze on the working man

short term gain for the banks and more long term pain for the country,
