Mosaic and field tile different thickness?

Just needs modifying for corners though, where you only have one tile edge to screed from....that is why i suggested to do one with a small leg at the depth of a tile...so you get the same effect....

I see, I understand what you are saying. So you would use that one for internal corners and also for externel corners when the wall has not yet been tiled at the other side of an externel corner

With the correct method you can use a template like you posted for any situation..

I was just pointing out that bathroomboy's job is an internal corner and not a border....so a slightly different template set up is needed..

Just to add..many thanks for the pic..not many get what we are on about when it comes to bedding out for mosaic borders etc etc...

My misses actualy asked me what I was doing when she saw me doodling on a peice of paper and thought that I was pretty sad for making the effort to draw a pic and upload it :lol:

Often times we use a cedar shim because it cuts easily with a handsaw and we can whittle it to final shape with a utility knife. If we have a table saw onsite we might make something that is a little fancier out of 1 X but a cedar shim usually is good enough.

Didn't bother with template, spread addy for field tiles and also in the corners where mosaic was going, just smoothed this out and left to go off, worked a treat, put mosaics on next day, spot on.
