Hi guys,

I quickly knocked this up earlier this morning, the drawing is to scale and I have accounted for the grout lines by increasing the tile size very slightly.
Do you think I have got this right or completely wrong? Could any pro's offer some advice to improve the layout?
Any ideas with what I could do about the gap between the top row of tiles and ceiling, it's too small to fill with a tile and I would prefer to keep a full tile at bath level.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated, i'm very new to all of this but i'm determined to get this right and not give up!

The general layout looks good to me. except that it is not a good idea to try and have full tiles on the floor, you are asking for trouble! To get rid of the gap at the ceiling, you really need to be running from a half tile (or there abouts) from the top of the bath, this will allow you to cut to the floor and also into the ceiling. Horizontally it looks good to me.

Thank you, the tiles on the floor are around 20mm shy of a full tile, although it's not clear on the drawing as its scaled down so much. I will re-create the plan with half tiles at bath level later on today to see how it looks and i'll re-post on here.

Cheers again.

I agree with russ....try and set out for minimal waste....to put that size cut in the top will be an unbelivable amount of waste...

Deffo drop the horizontal line...for a better balance and less waste..

Thanks Dave, do you think the shorter corner tiles are ok or are they too small? The only way I think I could avoid this would be to use a tile smaller than 400x250 but I can get these for a great price so would rather stick with them

draw a datum from the base of the window sill and see how they fall at the top and bottom by using a staff marked out for the width of the tile and then you will find the best place to set the batten horizontally it looks spot on:thumbsup:

Hi fellas,

I've changed the layout as recommended, now with a half row of tiles from the bath which allows half a tile at the ceiling to fill the gap I had previously. I've also added boxing for the pipework which I forgot to include in my first drawing. This will be 125x125 so I can use half tiles to cover it.

Here's the revised plan, your feedback would be appreciated
