My father just died ...

Little over a year ago .. i said these words on here.. and it tore my world apart.. so. it does get easier but it does take time..and it does need friends.. and they are plenty on here and that helps..
i will shut up now.

Deepest sympathy from me too Gisela, terrible time but there is never a good time.
I lost my own father in the summer of 1990 aged 42 years.
This same day last year my wife lost her granny(99 years old) then her life fell apart with her mother dying 10 weeks later and to top it off her godmother died a few weeks after that!
Our house here has not recovered yet, it's the one thing we're all sure of.
I hope your family and friends are near you.

this is the eternal paradox, we want our kids to miss us and grieve, but we want our kids to be sheltered and happy. For 6 months or so Gisela I felt real grief and anger at my mum's death, how such a kind woman could've had a severe stroke that left her blind, total amnesiac, in need of 24/7 care, but in the last few months my memories have faded and now encompass her whole life that I was a part of, I see the big lovely smile, the gentle chiding, sometimes the stern telling off's (coupled with her ruffling my hair).
You will no doubt be feeling low now G, but it is true that time is a great healer.xx
