So that cupboard looked pretty innocent, just whip it out and pop a shower in there... amazing what you find

So the leaking roof needed sorting out first!

Once that was out of the way just a question of moving a few things around. Sink on opposite wall and toilet a foot to the right. Easy enough, apart from the soil stack looked like it might be asbestos, so that took a bit of doing!

Well wouldn't you know it in the last 100 years the house has sunk bit at one end, so the drain off on that shower tray isn't going to be happy. About a 6cm drop over 1.7m!

So the marine play needed packing out, plumbing fits nicely underneath

This is proof it was level when i did it, so in 50 years time when its sank some more I've covered my ***!

Thanks for the encouragement! After 20 years of DIY I feel like I'm finally getting (almost) semi-competent!

I'm interested to know why you guys would pack out the recess? Everything I read said cut edges everywhere and never butt up tiles, is this the one exception that proves the rule? was gonna do the recess in metro too but I'm starting to think mosaics (I know how predictable!) might look ok...
