Hi Carl,

Welcome to the world of tiling and this forum.
Some words of encouragement for you...................

I became disolutioned with corporate life and jacked in a very well paid job with company car etc.. I did a 4 week course in November/December and started my full time tiling career at the start of January. I have never even thought about site work and don't ever intend to and I have a full diary until mid to end of May. There is loads of work out there for a good tiler and believe me, not only is the money pretty good but it is very rewarding when you look at a completed job and think "I did that!".

I was close to completion on a bathroom this morning when the mother and daughter turned up. Before the mother got to see how I was getting on the daughter was already shouting " Wow! mum, come and see the bathroom it's brilliant!" I never got that kind of satisfaction when I sold some corporate no face a £250k software solution.

Good luck with you new career, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks for all the comments and welcomes guys,

As above I have been disolutioned with corporate life, I took a 60% pay drop on the promises of something big from the new role within the the same business but guess what (NONE of it has come true), so this is why I have decided to pack it all in. I have considered Site work on a number of occasions but never had the balls really to take the chance so in order to fund my part of the business I sold all my cars (which were and are my only hobby) as I want to provide everything I can going forward for my current G.Friend and for my Daughter who lives with the ex unfortunatly.

All I can say is roll on April 21st now as then I can start seeking work and finding contracts.

Is there anything specific anyone would recommend me to do in order to start building the clientel list as quick as possible?
