Hi mate
I in no way wish to become involved in an argument,
but if said lady wishes to diversify and escape the boredom of being a housewife and finding something to do that is more rewarding in her spare time and earn some extra money, then I THINK WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE HER.
Regards
bloke, you are ready for the masters couse! trust me

Fiona, first of all welcome to the forum, if you really are serious about working in this industry you have 2 real options, either go down the short couse route or start as i did, i offered my services free of charge just to learn to a master tiler, which was local to where i lived, im not saying do this , its only an option, but for 9 months i only mized adhesive by hand for 3 tilers, the boss said my arms were to skinny, he was old school, after 10 months i recieved £40 per day, this was in 92, during the war:) anyway i stayed with him for six years, pay increased and i am at the top of my field now,my company in the first 6 months turned 76000, im taking my assesors in 14weeks time with a view to my cert head for uni lecturer at leeds. which evert route you take, try and get some experience working with a tiler, if you get on a decent homes scheme through the local authrity it will only improve youyr knowledge and speed. if i can advise in any way dont hesitate to contact me direct, look on my profile , follow my home page look on contacts and phone my mobile. Happy tiling
