i got the nickname mike the brush

my first foreman painter when i was an apprentice ,,he retired in my first year, didnt believe in rollers so we had to paint walls and ceiling with 9" flats

i still do it sometimes as its quicker

on site i would challenge younger painters to a race , me on a brush ,them on a roller

i usually won , :8:

so i got called the brush or mike the brush

I only found out I had a nick name last year. Lads I worked with over the years called me half a mill Phil behind my back. I told this story before so I wont bore you with it again. It was to do with my attention to detail. When I found out what they called me I felt proud

You're sure it was not a reference to a smaller part of your anatomy!
For me it was always - 'John the scone with the big one' :lol: I wish!

because of my surname i just got called shelly oh in junior school i used to get skitted with albert tatlog and then in senior school with alby-there as in the jacksons song i'll be there :lol:

Haha, the guy I subcontract for is 110% everything (which is good btw) and some of the lads call him "Lazer eyes Laurie" cause he is that accurate with his eyes 😀 plus he is 7 minutes from anywhere in the country, and every job should take about 7 minutes also :lol: !
