Nightmare tile from Topps

I have recently done a shower with these tiles they are porcelain 600 x 300 split face lookalike from Topps you cannot give them a joint and its hard to grout them ,I have now got another shower to do but will not be grouting them, the walls are no more ply and primed with SBR you can't use a tile cutter so will have to be wet cut.I am just hoping that they don't catch on 1026118_10152191026223817_1287824944_o.jpg

You want to try grouting Porcelanosa ' Zeus Biege/Blanco or 'Pearls white' , absolutely hideous , particularly the Zeus!

Diggy :0)

we had them both on 3 new build estates along with Firenze nacar and a few other nightmare to grout tiles in the end we found a good method ,using a very soft grout float and just doing the joints worked a treat.

Someone posted on here last year about running a small bead of Silicon between tiles & butting them up to each other & doing them that way.
I fitted these last year & they are an absolute mare to work with.
I see topps have them discounted just now 15 or 25% off, was hoping that was a sign that they aren't a very good seller.
I will fit them again but a very inflated price!!!

I walked of the job this morning refused to fix them but the chap that I do a lot of work for convinced me into doing them, so going back tomorrow to start but will not be grouting them, got about 11 m2 to do.

I fitted some a couple of weeks ago and never again..

Just out of interest did you fit them all the same way or just put them up random. If you look at the tile the ridges are more prominate one way than the other. .
The first shower I did I kept all the same way with straight joints also found them hard to cut can't get tight joints in the internal angle's did think about mitre internal's but to much like hard work so just silcone.

Topps top tip is to grout them with your finger!!!

Make sure you get every bit of the grout off the face of the tile, if you don't then when it dries it sticks out like a sore thumb..
It's very hard too see when the grout & tile are wet..

Yeah rubi floats are ok but the spongey ones from bright ideas are great and only a couple of pound ,and we hand sponged ,washboy was a nightmare on them.

I done a small feature wall recently from a local supplier I just used my bucket trowel to fill joints then spent alot of time and alot if clean water ti wash off. Took me hour n half to grout 5m

I just say to people, don't forget how much they will harbour germs and bacteria and how difficult they are to clean. When I talk to them about body oils and fats sticking to the tiles, joints and crevices (ooeerr missus) that usually scares them off enough!!!!!
