Yes, I know that the joints are not meant to meet.
Thanks. I went with the "brick pattern" which hardiebacker also states All done now.View attachment 98304
Looks very much like those boards line up on the right of the centre joint. If that’s a straight wall and not a corner, (which it’s not) they’re laid incorrectly. They’re meant to be laid broken bond. And it’s truly not that critical. Just don’t butt joint them. If laid broken bond it won’t matter at all that they differ in size.

Yep, was going crazy thinking the wall was not sound until I noticed it was the boards.View attachment 98310 View attachment 98309 12mm hardie collected this morning
I thought they were factory seconds too. But seems they are known to be like this, from looking around the internet.Ooo-er! Not great. How is it stored at the supplier? standing up or laid flat? Can't see how that would pass Hardie QC and be let out the factory looking like that. Unless they are seconds?
Are there any tolerances for curvature and warpage in backer board @HardieBacker ?
Going to try some jackoboard 6mm to go straight onto wall, is there any problems/variation like hardiebacker?Well thats persuaded me to keep buying jackoboard.
Thanks will do. Going straight onto mansory wall. Not in my experience but check with jackoboard as i dont think they will be happy with 6mm for that application . Probably looking at 12mm if its for stud wall or dot and dabbing . If using it to increase hanging weights on a smooth solid wall 6mm would be ok . Fix like you would a tile then back that up with mechanical fixings .
If its not plastered and its straight to blockwork dot and dab with mechanical fixing . Just check minimum thickness with jackoboard technical . Jackoboard washers are some of the best ice used .Thanks will do. Going straight onto mansory wall.
