Not very happy

Ok I put an advert in my local paper to advertise my services (yes I mean tiling), didnt think to buy the Friday paper th check the add because I had also arranged for a listing in the free paper, the free paper arrived, looked at the add and it had the wrong number so ive had no advertising this week,im realllllllyyyyyyy annoyed and had even gone out to buy new phone wiv answer service on it.

so im now a week behind how much compensation do you think i should push for ?

They will just offer you free ads and will say you gave them the number wrong.....push for potential loss of earnings, but I think they may wriggle out of it.......Gaz

Same happened to me julie my first year with yellow pages.
They put wrong number in and all they offered me was a free add in another book for an area i didnt want.
A whole year lost but I will say that yellow pages and thomsons local both worked for me the next few years when I needed to fill up weeks.
The advertising easily paid for itself and i still have a couple of friends who use it
every year and swear by them.

I don't think you have a chance of compensation the best you can hope for is a free couple of ads. It happens all the time! Sorry!!!

im well not happy , lucky i looked in the paper . I ve ordered some business cards which i should receive in the next week gonna stake out the local industrial estate and put cards on vans etc . some hopefully i can reduce the damage.

I have a tiling shop at the end of my road, gonna see him and i got a few plumber shops in my road as well

I can't offer any advice re: the advert balls up, but I'm in Cambridgshire and if you're short of work and fancy a trip to my neck of the woods I can probably help you out, just pm me.

Aye, never heard of anyone ever getting any form of propper compensation from an incorrest advert.
Basically there is no proof that you would have had any calls from it anyway, never mind getting the jobs.

What a RIP!!!! something to be really :furious3: about. still compensation I doubt it :mad2: These things happen and you just gotta grit teeth and bear it. Sorry to hear it though.
