Paul sh,
Thanks for putting this thread up.
Friday night i did an estimate for a full bathroom, A full shower room and a kitchen floor with a full splash back. The walls total 40sqms using porcelain tiles (18x12) and porcelain 12x12 flooring (Total area = about 15 sqms). Tanking is possibly wanted in the shower room with a splashback equivalent in the bathroom.
The problem i have is that i have'nt handled a tile bigger than an 10x10 for a floor on my training course (which i completed on friday 1st June)and this couple want bigger going up the walls.
The main thing in my favor, is that they cant get a tiler for another 5 weeks, but as their just starting out, they want to get the price down.
The house is going through a full re-developement and because i still work full time, i will have to do the work around my shifts, which they are happy for me to do.
I really dont want to lose the fantastic opportunity, because this will test every single thing i've been taught. but the last thing i need is to be putting in the cuts by the ceiling and have the whole thing crash into their brand new "P" shaped bath.
Having read the replies you have recieved, I'm wondering if i can possibly do this job, knowing that it will either make me or break me.
If anybody on this forum can help and advise, i would be extremely grateful.
Talk about- 2 buses coming along at the same time.
Regards
Alberttrotter.
PS.
I am in discussion with another tiler with reference to passing the job on (Hornchurch,Essex)
