it's better than chipboard....why a stainless steel substrate in the first place? we need more info really to advise.
Ok, brilliant thread! IMO, agreeing with swedish mike here, the only product suitable is bal fastflex, just had a look in book and they state it is suitable for stainless steel. Ive never done it myself so get as much info as you can on this one, failing that, swedish tends to be handy with a lighter, get him to burn it down!!

i expect it is sheets welded , the customer is very well off,lets say a celebritywhy on earth wold you tile stainless steel in the first place? is it sheets of stainless welded to make a floor substrate to be tiled onto? is the customer a euro lottery winner?
