ok got all me bits now for a cutter!

BS???? topps do do the 12mm board option for a few quid more is that more like it then 18mm in total?

ok ive decied its topps tiles for the hardi backer boards ill go for the 12mm boards. i take it ill still have to seal them with primer and the specialst screws, budget out the window!!

I think you've got a bit confused mate, the 25mm ply is as a replacement for the floor boards/ chipboard that is already down on your floor. Then the backer board gets glued and screwed to this. If you have a sound floor that is solid (solid bit v. important) then you only need backers. I assume you aren't replacing your floor boards/ chipboard floor?

no brian not replacing the floor to my knowledge its firm, ive got the plywood now would it hurt if i just use both it was a hassle getting home in my car be a shame to waste it!. yeah ive decied to go for the hardiboard from topps seems the best price i can find

okay Lee, from the start, rip out existing floor covering, back to the joists! replace with 22or 25mm wbp plywood (sealed on underside and edges), then glue and screw 6mm hardibacker 250 board to the plywood....job sorted

6mm ply dont bother wont really strengthen the floor just adding more layers if you say your floor is solid and you have no deflection ie jump on it and there is no bounce or vibration harde is fine.use a spf over the floorboards lay the boards and screw the boards 200 centres

ok its done i found soemwhere cheaper than topps place in yorkshire ive got the no more ply boards x3, no more ply screws, sbr primer, mega adhesive and the scoring knife my heads hurting from all this!! as is probably yours!!
