Doug, The bodywork damage is fairly minor once filled and painted you probably wont be able to tell its been repaired. Insisting on a new panel will write the vehicle off. Genuine Mitsubishi panels cost a fortune as will the labour to replace such a large panel. As long as the body shop is competent the chassis will be laser aligned and checked on the jig and everything will be as good as new.
Its quite common for new cars to have had bodywork repairs such as paint and filler before they are even registered to their 1st owner. Modern fillers and repairs are very good and often undetectable.
Is the L200 being repaired in an independant bodyshop or a national chain?
