lady phoned;
builder layed ceramic tiles down on concrete kitchen floor at christmas which he never groated..
she is saying some are now loose, no idea what adhesive was used?
the thing is she is looking her bathroom refitted and other bits and bobs.

so boys and girls what would most of you do?????

I would recommend ripping the lot up and starting again. If some are coming loose now then there will be no point in re fixing a few and then grouting just to have problems in the future because then it will be down to you.

Gaz

lift some of the loose ones up and see what his fixing method was...but i would lift the whole lot and start again as gaz has said..............dave..

i must admit i'd be inclined to lift a few more to see if the last bloke dash & dabbed the tiles if he laid them on a full bed of adhesive & the rest seem ok maybe tile over them,but like dh & gaz said it'll probably easier to start all over again then you know the job is done right!

I think i'd take them all up, depending on what "they are loose" means when you see them, then re-quote for all the bits and bobs.

If you do a 'patch up' job it'll look garbage and be garbage and you wont get the bathroom anyway. Look at what it really needs and tell her that, If all she wants is a cheap patch up then tell her she needs to find someone else, leave her your number and say when it fails again you will come and do it properly.

just to let u know

going to rip floor up b&q tiles best thing to do
also got full bathroom refit out of it..
