My own criticism of the BBB -
it needs to be a lot tougher - able to be thrown in with everything, resist being stood on etc.
needs a non-slip base - there was loads of messing around trying to get it to fit uk buckets but really, it just needs to be tough and non-slip, then I'd likely stick it on top of my washboy which has wheels.

And like probably everyone on here - I DO back butter/skim already!

What is you biggest complaint? It can be that it takes up too much room or that it takes you so much longer? If you can't spare 10 seconds per tile to BB it easier you are on much tighter time frame than I am. It took me 30 seconds to type this and I could of BB'd 3 large tiles in that time.
Not so much a complaint as such. When I'm doing a floor I like others have said just use a trolley with 20 or so tiles on it at a time. Face down. It's easier to move the tiles around and back buttering has never been a problem for me. I am a tool junkie so that's why I got one to try. It is something that just isn't needed in my opinion.

my opinion on this method is that the adhesive needs to be troweled into the floor, otherwise the adhesive doesn't stick very well to the floor.
With this method you are towelling a adhesive onto the floor you are just putting a skim on the back of the Tile

sorry but the trowel he is using to spread the adhesive on the floor is resting on the tiles and level metal straight edge, the trowel needs to be in contact with the floor to get the adhesive to stick to the foor properly

sorry i realize now that the thread is about back buttering, with all these pop up ads covering the page i didn't see that, i was just giving my opinion on the tile laying system. no point in bb the tiles if you don't push the adhesive into the floor.

The forum is a bit glitchy at the moment, that silly tool on the video is a waste of time

it is a bit like a solution to a problem that doesn't that isn't needed, the tile in the video is small enough that you don't need a bbb unless you're handless and its too small to set a really big tile on,1200x600, have i got the point now😳
