There are a few bits where the crackle finish has broken off on the border mitre edges, they are tiny and only noticeable up close. I have no idea how you could avoid this, if they weren't crackle effect then all would be fine. Ive ordered some cream touch up paint so hopefully can cover them up.

Tips for mitre cuts, most have already been suggested.:

New wet cutter blade, plenty of water in tank.
Seal the crackle tiles before doing any wet cuts.
Do the cuts as slowly as you can.

I think it's the nature of crackle tiles that probably don't Suit that well to being mitred, if you do them again, a fettle with a rubbing pad would help the edges.

Am loving those tiles, shame crackle makes it such a pain. Where did u find them? I found it really hard to find the dado tiles. Found them in the end but also wanted skirting tiles but the prices were crazy and size didnt match so just got wood skirting instead. The only place i could find with completes set was a company called 'original style' under there artworks collection. There skirting tiles for example were not too bad a price, around 6/7 but then the matching metro tiles were really expensiv. Then topps tiles had cheaper metros but then skirting tiles were £15 each. Thought about mixing and matching but the artworks were an akward 152mm width whereas TT were 150 or 200.

Traditional Ceramic tile options seem pretty rubbish in the UK in general, its all very specialist, whereas the US seem to have matching bullnose, border, dados etc as standard.

Dan how would a rubbing block help the border mitred cuts where a tiny piece of crackle has broken off during cutting from the face of the tile?

Or do you mean for the normal wall tile mitred edges?

Matty these are from Walls & Floors, they do a number of different style metros, crackle and non crackle, only in normal flat and border tiles tho, haven't seen any skirting tiles on there.

You would use the edge to carefully carve from the glazed side to the biscuit to shape the cut. If it was a common issue you'd leave 5mm on and file neatly down.

Tom look at my earlier post with tile on left with jagged edge from raw cut and then on the right after being filed down on a pad (i assume). Think thats what dan is referring to although the photo i posted was glazed rather than crackled so understand its much more difficault with ur tiles.

Yes I understand it, its the crackle thats the problem!

Ive got more to do with the same tiles eventually so I will get a block and try the 5mm advice, although I imagine it would make the job 10x longer, its only my house so tiny broken parts touched up isnt a huge issue.
