Phil hobson tiler becomes one of 4 tilers to become a master craftsman in wall and floor tiling

'By Royal appointment' will soon be on the cards!
Congratulations Phil,
one question you can ask over your meal is why 'Tylers' and not 'tilers'. I've Googled, but could not find an answer.

Sean, Tyler is the olde way of spelling Tiler. Any Freemasons on here will know that the Tyler is still a part of any lodge. Thanks for the kind words. I happen to know there are some masons on TF. The livery is not masonic, but there are some similarities.

Congratulations, quite an achievement.

There can't be many tilers in the UK with both the Heritage Certificate and Master Tiler status, if any.

Bound to be worth an extra £150 a day.

The way my jobs are going Peter, I would be happy with £150 a week. every week:lol:

Congratulations Phil. Knew it would come for you, are we having a bash to celebrate? If not, I understand if you don't want to talk to us mere mortals anymore lol.
Seriously, a nice little well deserved pat on the back. Hope you're keeping well from I seen you last .
Speak soon 🙂

Cheers mate, I think you, and most gals and guys on TF deserve it more than I do, maybe we could come over and meet up with you Joe, Peter,Tommyzoom, and all the rest of you good people from over the small strip of water that separates us.

i so enjoyed our meeting at Nu-life you are all mad, but I think the world of you. Best two days I have spent for a long time.

It's funny with courses you meet guys from the forum and take their perception from what they type, then a reality check kicks in:smilewinkgrin:

Fantastic Ray, sorry I never got time to pop in, we were pushed for time, but I look forward to meeting you in April.

The day was amazing, the meal, the company the drinks, rubbing shoulders with Sir this, and Sir that, MBE's OBE's Lord Mayors of London ex Lord Mayors etc, all real good people.

I will post some pics, as I get them, here are a few.

Half the names on the paper work had pips on there shoulders....

It dos'nt get better than that Phil:thumbsup:

Outstanding achievement Phil

Thanks Neale, and Ray for the comments, the day was unreal my youngest son David was with me and he was my rock, I found all the people there so genuine, be they a gold medal winner of a European bricklaying apprentice competition or a peer of the realm, I got on with them all as their passion and respect for tradesmen crossed any class or status divide.

I will post some more pics, (but will not bore you to death) I feel I have at least been a humble envoy of our noble craft, our trade will survive forever, a robot will never overcome what we do day to day.

Respect to all members.

Old "git" getting the award, just found a pic.
