I know you lads dont like plumbers but I work with a tiler and we get more work as a team than on our own, if you help each other you can pick up some plumbing tips and the plumber can pick up tiling or just go in and do your own bit (customers like just one bill)

those of you having trouble finding work... have you considered working for a tile centre on the books?
Yes, you get less money than being self employed, but most companies will supply you with a van insured, taxed and roadworthy (generally new as well), your tools, work every day, you still get paid even if you stuff up a job, you never have to fork the bill if you make a mistake, you never have to go out evenings measuring up. I think its a lot easier myself.

Well, if people are happy to pay to quote customers blind on a website and they get a job out of it then good luck too them.

And it also look easy money for the webmaster too, quite a good idea if you are happy to tender for work in this way.

It has its moments and can be hit and miss.
Now I've got a couple of references for work I may try one of the other sites.

it doesnt cost anything to try there free trial, but when your trial runs out they will take almost £50 out of your bank account without your permission. Happened to me. Also, after vat it works out at £13 per job. Also they are misleading in where the jobs are - often the job turns out to be twice as far as they originally said before you pay your money, and worse - sometimes you pay for a dead link becasue the customer has already agreed a tiler for the job but hasnt updated there info on the website. Really bad news these types of sites - rated tradesmen is the worst - just ridiculously greedy.

Also, If you ring technical help - your enquiry is at the most expensive phone rate in existence to call centre halfway accross the world to someone with little grasp of the english language.

Try the free FindTrustedTradesmen.co.uk - Find tilers, plumbers, plasterers, electricians, builders, bathrooms specialists and more. website. Sign-up for free, add three listings in three areas for free and make sure you use the term 'tiler in XXXXXX' plenty of times in the listing and in a few weeks it should be ranking in Google and suchlike. It's now number one in the search engines for many areas but on first page for all areas we have tilers for.

If anybody is searching google for a tiler in their area they should find you on that site.

Just say no to all marketing calls, even if it sounds like a good deal. *******s!
