Pipe chases in concrete floor.

A question to you builder/multiskilled minded guys on here.on a job at the mo had to put chases in the concrete floor for waste pipes/hot and cold feeds and also had to resite the property`s mains water stop tap,what do you guys use to fill them up again bearing in mind i want something quick setting tho,the main trench is (the mains stop tap hole) approx 8" deep X 12" long X 8" wide.the others are approx 2" wide x 2" deep.rung a aggregate company today and they said rapid set concrete (sold in bags at b&q) or their post fixing stuff which has 10mm chippings in,so any advice regarding products preparing and methods etc etc would be great

I would be covering the pipes if there copper, cement will eat at them over a time. Clean out all dust and dampen with water, sbr 1-3 with water and mix with neat cement and brush onto the surfaces of the hole and channel as a slurry. Buy some webber rapid concrete off a mate who uses it for bridge repairs and fill

Hi mate, I'd use washed/sharp sand with the rapid cement. I wont crack as muck as standard sand. Make sure you cover the pipes well. If you mix a 3:1 ratio, it will be set in approx 10 mins and solid within a couple of hours. Great stuff rapid cement
