Plaster or board

Hi, I have never thought about doing this before so I thought I would ask the pros 1st. I'm helping a friend tile his wet room and the walls were like a dogs back leg so I stuck some plaster board on top and leveled it up. My question now is can I seal the plaster board and tile stright on it or do I need to skim it 1st.

Have you got the thickness allowance to fix marmox boards over the plasterboard? 6mm even?

If not, don't bother skimming or sealing the plaster board - prime with a primer such as Mapei Primer G and fix your tiles with Keraflex or P9 depending on their size and material - although I would recommend the Marmox route as this is a waterproof board and perfect for wetroom installations.

OH and most importantly - don't forget to tank the walls and floor first...!!!!!

What worries me is if the plaster is blown then it has to removed, plasterboard stuck to old plaster would need good fixings to support the board if your going to fix tiles as well
