S

Spud

Why because its the best choice for any tile fixing?

1. Its more sturdy than any other grout.

2. Water resistant.

3. Stain resistant.

4. Wont scratch highly polished marble or granite, no sand in the product.

5. Easy to clean in wash areas.

Theres just a few reasons to use it....

Cheers
There is sand in the filler of epoxy grout and it is a very rough texture finish in my opinion, most stone suppliers do recommend fine cement grout for stone as it doesnt effect the repolishing process where epoxy and sanded grouts do

Well i suppose when the resins are mixed together, there are so called sand particles in the filler and pigments as well. I dont usually put posts on here because it gets all contraversial, theres sand i mix with cement and theres sand particles in fillers and pigments? so i guess where both right. But theres no argument that epoxy grouts are better, as long as you know how too use them.

Thanks for a warm welcome folks...

Well you know im new to this posting stuff, i didnt read all the previous replies like from the begining lol.

So heres my appologies to you all, i didnt see the tiles in question i can now say hand on heart that the tiler was correct not to install in a wet area.

Ive installed these tiles in a few porcelanosa showrooms around the country, in a wet area display and they are not suitable at all.

Apart form the backing issues and coverage, you can only use a 6mm trowel because of bleed through issues.

Plus they are a nightmare to grout and clean down, they rip sponges to pieces.

So the tiler should of walked away and kept his reputation, sales people sell things they dont know jack ---- about product info...

Not that impressed that sales people know "Jack". Unfortunately tilers can be and are just as bad, you have only got to read your post, meow! If they were not suitable why did you install them in their showrooms?

Because its a showroom and not a working wetroom, and to be honest i know its a free country and everyone can post on here, but im right the majority of sales people just want to sell,
and after the sale they dont really give a damm about the customer or the consequences.

Im sure your not like the above and i respect your comment, so nice to chat with you...
