Ply Bathroom Floor

Hi I have 3 bathroom floors currently Lino over ply substrate recommendations on what to use over the top of the ply prior to tiling I'm thinking of a ditra membrane !? Any other suggestions

Would 15mm still not swell up if water was to get to it

never, never tile onto ply fixed by someone else, have the backs and edge's been sealed, most probably not.
ply has no place in a wet or moisture rich area, remove it and replace with a moisture stable board.

Its entirely up to you which way you go, maybe pop into your local tile shop and ask them ,look on the adhesive bags and that will tell you that you can tile on ply and the thickness it must be before you go and spend xxxxx amount of pounds on something that you may not need,i have bee tiling for 44 years and yes you can tile on ply if it is the right thickness

I no some cases you can tile on to ply but I've just recently seen a kitchen with a ply base were the tiles are popping up due to water getting to the substrate and swelling I'm not sure I'd want to lie direct to ply in a wet area my issue is if I can get the toilet and sink high enough to get a 6mm backer board plus tile underneath ...?

If it's less than 15mm I would be taking the lot up and replacing it with 18mm ply minimum!

Like i said its up to you but to be honest if i had a floor coming up on me that was on ply i would be more concerned about who did the plumbing cos whether you use hardie or not that floor is coming up regardless

a bit harsh local tiler. i seem to remember you asking about using insulation boards under electric ufh and being concerned about strength. i'd consider that to be common knowledge for a pro tiler
