Quick question guy's

If you are constructing walls to make a shower area, would or should you
use marine ply as opposed to standard ply. I know there are other materials such as the backer board available, but if ply is going to be used, what would you go for, or advise a customer?

Hi John,

If using ply I would use eternal grade ply - WBP. Remember reading something about how marine ply can discolour grout but can't confirm this.

backerboards or moisture resistant plasterboard then tanked

as above no ply on walls. the ply can swell or expand and if this happens it can crack entire lines of tiles......plasterboard is cheaper as well
