Hi guys I'm new to this forum stuff as I never really get the time. I'm a tiler from Dunstable beds that did my nvq tiling course at Ableskills in dartford, Kent. Since completing the course I have set up my own tiling company & I also sub contract for a tiling company. I've been very busy with work and have even featured in 2 episodes of a new channel 4 programme called you deserve this house. Completing 2 tiling installations for them. I can be seen on episode 9 and a further episode airing some point next week. I'm a Tiler covering the beds herts & bucks area if anybody is interested in having any tiling done then feel free to contact me for a quote.

Thankyou all for reading my post.

I tried to watch this today, via a proxy, online. So that I do not waste another 47 minutes of my life, EXACTLY which SERIES and EPISODES are you, and your tiling, in? I watched Series 1 Episode 9. I didn't see on Channel 4's website any later series beyond series 1. Series 1 episode 9 was about a nice ex-fireman chap and despite them managing to cram 3 minutes of entertainment into a 47 minute programme, there was zero tiling. I was apoplectic by the end (is that the right English word? Apoplektisk in Swedish, I think it's right). :incazzato:

Thanking you.

It was aired on Thursday 15th it may have been series 8. It was for a lady that worked in a homeless centre. The tiling itself was a kitchen splashback in green metro style 10x20cm brick tiles with ivory grout.

I think maybe you can still watch it on 4od

Series 8????!!!!!111

Really? They made EIGHT series of that show. Well I'll be dammed...

I tiled a bathroom for a woman on "Help my house is falling down" also channel 4, if you blinked you would have missed what was shown of the bathroom I tiled for nothing ,I wont be doing that again

I probably watched that (I have a soft spot for Sarah Beeney, if you know what I mean). Was it the farmhouse in Essex by any chance? She was very complimentary about the tiling in the bathroom in that episode, but didn't go as far as to mention WHO DID THE TILING.

Which made me wonder whether they paid the contractors, or somehow persuaded them to work for free, with the expectation that they'd get some sort of advertising from it. I did note that they NEVER mentioned the contractors in the credits at the end of the show.

Man, I'm in a bad mood tonight. These TV celebs, no matter how big their assets are, are paid millions, while honest craftsmen are expected to work for free. It gets my goat to be honest... :incazzato:

I think you could do with a few more days training

Premier-tiling

As for the materials used, we used what was supplied by the show, even after advising them a cement based adhesive should have been used they wanted us to go ahead with what they had. I do not need a few more days training ( DNA TILING) I no exactly what adhesive should be used to fix tiles to each background, which is why I advised against the adhesive supplied. As for tiling on tile, that's not standard practice for me and not something I ever recommend even if the tiles are fixed to a solid wall.

Thanks to all the positive guys on here, but I don't think I'll waste my time on here anymore.
