That's just how Iv always seen it, if u drop ur price by £50 you effectively paid £50 to get the work. I don't think I'm greedy, maybe I am to a certain extent but I only charge what I see as fair for the job. I understand people always want to pay less and get a bargain, people work hard for their money, but so do I and I think some customers forget that.

Its the best reason not to drop your original quote when a customer tries to bargain you down to a lower price. And it cant be argued with!
 
i won't budge on my rates as I know what my time and experience is worth.

Too many people jumping into the game wanting top dollar and wanting same rates as men who've been tiling 20+ years.

Knowing how to price a job is a skill that can't be taught at college, it's honed over years.
 
I worked for a massive long standing tiling company in my past .the owners were massive in tiling world .we were all doing well until the owner went to Poland and brought back tilers .to work cheap .alot of us lost jobs .I didn't .but left on principle .you can't price fix you have to sell your end product well .
