Somewhere on this forum there's posts about how to drum up more trade. Can't find it, but i remember suggesting (and others did) handing cards into suppliers and getting pally with them.
I dropped some cards into a supplier the other day, one i have used occassionally in the past. I've swung by a couple of times since just for a little chat, quick price enquiry or whatever.
Since i dropped the cards i have not purchased anything in the store, but they've been pushing my cards. I've had two potentials come to me from their recommendation. I've just finished pricing and estimating and let's say if they come off i won't have any availability until the new year!
Anyway, i'll be dropping by Monday morning with bacon rolls as a thank you. Not delivered prices to customers yet, but an acknowledgement to them here will keep them faithful and hopefully push my cards a bit more.
just thought i'd share, it's working for me. I haven't paid for any advertising, just spent a bit of time with the guys that have the targets and massive overheads. I think, current climate, this is the route to go. No costs except cards. They want the business, i want the work, perfect partnership it seems.
