Hi Mate,

You must be having a laugh,If you bother to read the forum you'll see that PTS have gone bust and are no more!!!!
If your serious I would suggest that you check out the likes of NETT,Alpine Tiling,Chasetiling or Construction Skills. All of the above offer quality training.

That was my thinking

Just to add to my previous post, they got me on a goverment funded nvq, there is still some funding left, I did all the paperwork last saturday had a call a couple of days ago from the skills people just to confirm I am who they said I am and just waiting for an assessor to call me. they are called specalist trade courses now, and not specalist training courses.

I agree, doesn't look good, all this name changing.I see on another site, a very unhappy bunny indeed after having to go to another plastering training centre inorder to sort his C+G after training at a centre in Billericay,Essex- PTS/STC or what ever the name is, also run plastering courses out of their Billericay site-ONLY A COINCIDENCE I KNOW!!!!

Whitebeam, I Dont think Tony is back I heard he was back on the tools, KGBVIKTOR I can't comment on plastering as I only did a tiling course there a couple of years ago. I think the first name change was because the plumbing supply firm PTS didn't like the fact they shared the same letters, hence specialist trainning courses, not sure on the second change I do know that mark and george the two onwers did not see eye to eye on some stuff and mark brought him out.

Tony is one of the NVQ assessors. You are worth £750 as a Government funded NVQ candidate. All you have to do is pose for a few staged photos and then wait for your NVQ in the post, I'm confident that my 12 year old could get her NVQ2 through them .
that's basically how i got mine through them although the assessor was jason king. he was due to visit me on site but due to serious problems he couldn't make it so asked me to supply photographic evidence and hey presto........10 weeks later my certificate landed on the doormat
