Has anybody used Silicon carbide discs on floor polishing machines to remove laitence from anhydrate screeds .

Use discs made of silicon carbide, for scratching marbles or smooth substrates. I also used discs of tungsten carbide, last much longer, but I prefer silicon carbide.

Just wondered how effective they are and whether I should get some to go on my polisher

Thanks . I take it you mean Silicon carbide discs attached to polisher . If so how many metres do they last for

got mine on ebay pretty cheap too

I've only used them on a low speed, very heavy floor prep machine. 60 grit is perfect.

I've seen a certain tiler with an electric van sanding a floor recently on twitter it was a raimondi machine for tilertools.co.uk I think there about a grand .... maybe santa will bring me one for Christmas........

If your doing one of Mayhew's you won't be to sand as much as others

Yes but if your doing a large one still takes to long just thought for price of discs if it worked would be good shout .

I'm not sure got it second hand it's a truvox trophy . I wouldn't want it if was any heavier.

Ah, I see what you mean.
The only time I get on the boat for work it's well worth my time. I only do a handful of times a year and don't go over to price first. Not great practice I know and if too many unknowns it's day work plus expenses and travel pay.
