Try Tile Giant for your aquapanel

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but Aquapanel is just over 1 m2 per sheet and Hardibacker just under 1 m2 so sometimes it works out cheaper using aquapanel

hardi 500 is a good size for monkeyhanger tho' 12mm x 1200mm x 800mm :smilewinkgrin: and even more so if his studs are 400 centres.

I found this info for Knauf Aquapanel, seems it'll do the job for me, and Wickes will deliver for the size of order i'll need.

I must add I have nothing against Hardibacker, I just mentioned aquapanel as Monkeyhanger had asked about it

i did some work last year tiling onto aqua panels they left a 5mm joint between the panels and filled them with silicon, thats how they were instructed to fit them . this was in shower areas

Looks like hardibacker and aquapanel can be found about the same price/m2, excluding delivery - delivery could be a big factor for me.

Slightly changing topic - can these quartz tiles be polished up at the edges so you can corner with the edges to avoid using plastic corner trims (I hate those, they look so cheap)

why not remove your plasterboard first and see what centres your studs are? I don't know the aquapanel dimensions, so I'm just thinking about potential wastage in the form of off-cuts

Nybor - saw on their website that they like you to leave 3mm gap between boards and Silicon in the gap as well as embed a mesh tape in the tile adhesive between the boards.

yes you can polish the edges of your quartz tiles , you can get a kit for doing this. but its not something i would undertake , if you have no experience in this type of procedure. your right though tile trim will spoil it
